About

Holocaust scholar Raul Hilberg:  “Since the fourth century after Christ there have been three anti-Jewish policies: [forced] conversion, expulsion, annihilation. The second appeared as an alternative to the first, and the third emerged as an alternative to the second…The missionaries of Christianity has said in effect: You have no right to live amongst us as Jews. The secular rulers who followed proclaimed: You have no right to live amongst us. The Nazis at last decreed: You have no right to live.”

“Jacob’s Relief” is a reaction to the truth of Hilberg’s insight.

  1. Thank you for your work here Dan, I’m wading into the dark waters of Holocaust study too. It’s hard to take it all in.

I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers, Ruth… it is difficult, but rewarding, work. Overwhelming at first and always. As Elie Wiesel says during his speech at the dedication of the US Holocaust Memorial Museum in DC: “There are only questions. Always more questions.” The assault on human memory – Holocaust denial – must not be met with Christian silence as was the Holocaust itself. May God bless you and keep you…
